The War of the Worlds (of which by the modern day there were actually two, the second one being fought between humans and the selenites in the 1960s and '70s) is pretty much the defining event of our alternate history and figures into the backstory of every single one of our books, including the ones that have nothing to do with the supernatural or superpowers.
I'm glad you enjoyed it and I very much appreciate you reading and commenting!
This was a fun story! I guess I should read the one before it, with Prometheus and co, because I was a little lost at first. It's a very interesting world with interesting worldbuilding, with the powers starting at the Martian War. I guess War of the Worlds had severe repercussions? (And in this world, a less lame ending?) The Copper Knight was a neat baddy, straight out of Fullmetal Alchemist. I also like the powers of Amp and the Atomic guy. Prometheus seems like the kind of walking McGuffin character you could write a million stories with. Graphic novel when? :-D
Copper Knights and Granite Men is the first story we've published featuring the Promethean. (There will be others we post in the future that take place before it.) He will certainly appear in Martian War Chronicles stories, but that series' main hero, The Signalman, has not yet met him. We do have a lot of stories planned with The Promethean.
But that's sort of the fun of what we're doing. We have different series where starring characters from one series become side or background characters in another. It gives us the opportunity to flesh out the world and have side characters to draw on that feel real without having to brainstorm.
I don't actually remember what Mike's inspiration for Copper Knight was. I'm a big fan of the original Fullmetal Alchemist anime, and Al is by far my favorite character, but I didn't have too much input on Copper Knight. Atomic Ranger is pretty interesting because he's our version of Allen Adam, aka Captain Atom, a public domain Charlton Comics character who was bought by DC comics. He's pretty vastly different than both his Charlton and DC counterparts, though.
As for a graphic novel, you are not the first to ask! But, alas, I draw quite slowly, so an 80- or 100-pager is not in my future yet. I also don't know that I'd adapt an entire book that Mike and I wrote into a comic just because there's a lot of beautiful description and interesting details that would be lost in transition.
We do, however, have a Challenger Confidential comic about half done. It will likely be a 20-pager, and will star a character who has not yet had a story published about them, although Torrent mentions him in East End Irregulars. Of course, more familiar characters will pop up, too.
That's the plan for now: short, self-contained 20 page comics that tie in with other series. I work on them between illustrations for the prose stories. There's also a modern-day IMPS comic half-done. But I have no hard completion date for either.

In the meantime, I hope you continue on with Mazes and Monster! https://heroicadventurefiction.substack.com/p/statue-in-the-catacombs
